A foreign national was charged in Lithuania under Article 300, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania – for forging a passport and using it to enter Lithuania. Our law firm's attorneys succeeded in defending the foreigner from criminal liability by arguing that he had provided assistance to the Ukrainian military in opposition to the regime of the Russian Federation, which posed a danger to him. The forged Russian passport had been obtained and held in order to leave Russia and eliminate the threat to his life and health.
On June 25, 2025, the judgment of the Alytus District Court entered into force, terminating
the criminal case against our client. The court acknowledged that the passport was forged
due to a situation of necessity.
